The brief

What the client needed.

The client's products looked and worked much like everyone else's, and the brand was struggling to compete. It wanted a genuinely new product to grow the brand and its sales.

Research into how pet brushes are used found the core problem: ordinary combs pull and snag fur, which hurts the pet and makes grooming a battle.

The approach

How AYWU answered it.

Using its full development chain, from research to production, the team turned that finding into a new product: a brush that moistens the coat while it works.

Two changes do the job. A fine mist relaxes and conditions the fur so the bristles glide instead of tugging, and an angled handle keeps the owner's wrist in a comfortable position.

Design details

What makes it work.

Mist while you brush

A built-in spray releases a fine mist during grooming to moisturise the coat, reducing pulling and pain at the source.

17-degree handle

The handle is angled at 17 degrees for an ergonomic, comfortable grip during longer grooming sessions.

Comfort on both sides

The design balances how the pet feels with how the owner holds it, so grooming is more pleasant for both.

Distinctive form

A rounded, characterful shape with a clear water dome sets the product apart from ordinary brushes on the shelf.
